How your Proof of Creation works and how to independently verify it

When you certified your music with musiQproof, we created an Evidence Package containing your music together with the information you provided during certification, such as the song title, legal name and any additional metadata.

The entire Evidence Package was then processed using the SHA-256 cryptographic hashing algorithm, creating a unique SHA-256 digital fingerprint.

A SHA-256 digital fingerprint is mathematically unique to the exact contents of the Evidence Package. If anything inside the package changes — even a single character, comma or bit — a completely different SHA-256 digital fingerprint will be generated. This makes it possible to verify whether the Evidence Package has remained completely unchanged since certification.

The SHA-256 digital fingerprint is then independently certified using legally recognised European certification technology under the eIDAS framework and internationally recognised RFC 3161 standards. Since the certified SHA-256 digital fingerprint uniquely represents your complete Evidence Package, successful verification demonstrates that your music and all associated evidence already existed in exactly the same form at the certified date and time.

Your certification remains valid indefinitely. As long as the certified files remain unchanged, they can be independently verified at any time using the original certification files and the independent verification service.
